I have had a clunking on rough roads for some time in the Focus. "bcardinal", our resident Ford parts man advised me to replace the front link arms which I did this morning. I have been waiting for my melanoma surgery to my upper right arm to heal a bit more before I tackled any repair work so I finally got around to it this morning. Good news! That was the problem. The new ones have grease fittings on both ends so hopefully I won't need to do this again.

Apparently front endlinks are very cheap on the Focii ... and ford cars in general.
I was replacing the plastic end links on my taurus every spring.

Some can be a real bear to take off. Used a grinder to remove the link ends on my son's Pontiac G5.
I just replaced this in my mother's 2000 Focus. WHAT A PAIN!! Replaced the trashed stock parts with Moog links. Moogs look nice and have a zerk fitting.

The nuts were a quality lock nut, so I'm good that way. I to had to use a cut off wheel on one old nut, and as I said the new arms had grease fittings which should help the arms to last longer.

The new factory ones are a Ny-Lock type nut. Its kinda cool that the manufacturers are moving to the Ny-Lock style over a cotter pin style.
