Replace Toyota T-IV with Maxlife? Testimonials?

For all the threads I've read about Toyota T-IV and Maxlife ATF, I haven't read anything to convince me Maxlife is an appropriate substitute for T-IV. IIRC, the specified viscosities are different. That's enough for me to stick with manufacturer-approved ATFs.

In my case, I worry about what to use in my Volvo S40. T-IV is okay to use, Maxlife is not.

Whether you go with Maxlife or the T-IV, you'll be miles ahead of the majority of drivers on the road who never change anything but engine oil. I'm confident you'd be fine with Maxlife, but if you feel better sticking with the Toyota fluid, there certainly would be no harm in that. Maxlife hasn't disappointed me anywhere I've used it, and it's $19.99/gallon at autozone. Get a filter or something to push it over $20 and you get a point. 5 points, you get free $20 so that's like a $4 discount each time.

Flushed all four of our Toyota products with MaxLife: 07 Lexus ES350 (170K); 07 Tacoma (135K); 07 Corolla (120K); 06 Camry (130K). The Lexus and Taco had WS; the Camry and Corolla Type IV. All were changed over early this year and all shift as expected.

Here is the Blackstone report. Any interpretations?

We have Maxlife ATF in our 99 Corolla and 98 Avalon (with the same 3.0 V6 lMZFE) and they have been running well for many thousands of miles.

I realize it's not regarding Toyota transmissions, but in my 2001 Maxima (JATCO 4 speed w. HLSD) I ran one round of the MaxLife without the WS certification, and the after with the WS certification - blue bottle or red bottle or something like that.

I would not hesitate to run either again, but if the application calls for T-IV I'd run the Maxlife without the WS spec - it seemed to shift smoother. But then again, Nissan-matic-D is closer to T-IV I'd think.

I do a 4qt T-IV drain and fill every other year/30K on the 02 Camry in my signature. It's cheap and readily available at the dealer so I'm sticking with it. Shifts so smooth I can't even feel it.
