Maxlife ATF vs Toyota T-IV

I have yet to find another manufacturer in writing that is making JWS 3309 fluid but Mobil/Exxon.

I can find out relatively easily who is the source for the Ford JWS 3309 fluid however. As long as it's under the Motorcraft name. For the life of me, I still cannot see how Volvo can justify $20 per quart for their JWS 3309 fluid. I don't think I can bring it up, but I saw a posting on here, months ago, that said they saw the dealer cost of that fluid and it was approximately $1.75 per quart.

The parts guy at my local Toyota said that Mobol/Exxon makes all of the Toyota fluids.

And exactly how does this "parts" guy know this.? I think it's true also. But this is how myths perpetuate. Does he have any invoices, paperwork, or is this just word of mouth knowledge? It would be nice info if prove-able.

Cannot try those. They have to specifically be made to the JWS 3309 oil spec. Simply saying it's okay on the bottle to be used for Toyota Lexus and Volvo and others, isn't good enough. #@$%!, Valvoline Maxlife will say it's okay for every car made in the world. Doesn't mean it is. What spec is it made to. Other than that , it cannot be used in those cars.

Wow... isn't that really expensive.
