Removing motor honey from engine.

Do the opposite of how you added the motor honey. Change the oil and report back.

Usually oil pressure will be much higher on a cold start than after the engine is warm. I too think you have a clogged screen in the pick up tube, bad pressure sensor, or something else along those lines. I used to run STP in an old Escort, 70-75PSI on a cold start wasn't uncommon. Pressure on a warm engine would drop to about 40-45 psi at highway speed. The reason you added Motor Honey in the first place was engine noise. This is a hint that there may have been a lubrication problem prior to putting it in the engine. Years ago I used STP along with 10w40 in near 0*F temperatures and never experience low oil pressure because of it. I've used both STP and Motor Honey years ago and they're about the same consistency.

Could be a bad o-ring where the oil pickup tube goes into the oil pump. Also, some GM's have a screen behind the oil pressure sending unit. You might check and see if that's plugged up with crud.
This is a known problem on certain engines.
Op , on what make and engine are you experiencing this problem ?

So after extensive trouble shooting, it turns out the "motor honey" was fine, and just precipitated the issue. i have a dreaded bad oring in my 5.3 chevy silverado. I plan to replace the oring, oil pump, timming chain, chain tensioner, and all seals and gaskets. The only issue i have i don't have a lift. is it possible to remove the pickup tube bolt, with a box wrench, form the top of the engine compartment? I've seen people use a combination of box wrenches, needle nose pliers, and magnets. The only issue is that everyone on youtube has a lift. Can this be realistically done without a lift, in a short period of time (as in a day, two at most before my apt tows my derelict truck)?

Oh, man, that's tough. You could do it on jack stands but I would hesitate to try to do it in an apartment on the sly. The chances of running into a problem that delays completing the job seems pretty good.
