First car is my 2003 Mustang GT. The remote works perfectly.

Second car is a 2000 Mercury Cougar, daughter's car. Bought new remote keyless for it when the one it came with smashed. I programmed the new remote for her and it works perfectly.

So here's the puzzle. Both cars within range of either her or my keyless remote, like parked on the driveway, for example. If I click mine, my car opens and hers does not, as it should be. But, if she clicks hers, nothing happens on her car AND my car will no longer respond to my remote, either. Any idea why her remote will kill both if they are close to each other?

After she clicks her remote and your car stops responding, remove the battery from her remote and then see if your remote now works.

They transmit on the same freq, just the coded signal is different so can jam one another... Newer remotes transmit a signal for three or four seconds then stop, while most of the older ones continue to transmit as long as you hold the button...
