Remote filter setup

I installed a big hydraulic filter in line with the cooler lines on my Suburban.
It is a 15 micron hydraulic filter with a 1qt size can.
Only problem is the set up cost next to nothing for me to get and I have a small leak where one of the the pipe threads are screwed in to the filter head.
The fittings I am using are 1'' NPT but I thing the filter uses 1'' straight threads ment to be sealed with an o-ring.
I am going to have to pull it off and seal the threads with some thing other then a bunch of teflon tape and RTV.

I just ordered one of the hydraulic filter mounts from Northern Tool. I hope this will work as well as I have read about on this site. I think I can mount it on the frame next to where the cooler lines exit the transmission to filter the oil when it first leaves the tranny and is good and hot. I hope after doing all this it pays off, in the past I have pushed transmissions to well over 250k, when I usually trade, and MAYBE at best changed the internal screen once. I am adding the extra filter since the newer transmissions seem to have so much trouble. My luck, usually bad, the tranny will fallout in the middle of the highway after doing all this.
