Reducing Likelihood of Sludge & Varnish ?

As I pointed out in the other thread, that video preview does not reflect the actual results; is grossly misleading unfortunately.
Eh it looks better but nothing crazy (to me at least) but it does appear the basic Castrol 5W40 Euro stuff isn't keeping things nice (or as nice as other oils can).

Exactly, the preview shows a huge difference, while screenshots from the video, not heavily adjusted, don't:

I do see some differences but not as dramatic as he made it out to be. He doesnt' come across like he's pushing RP or making it up to me.

FWIW I have no interest in RP I posted it bc we're all oil enthusiasts LOL.

Exactly, the preview for the video is misleading, but, despite that, it is clear some cleaning did in fact take place.

He has a strategically placed shelf of Royal Purple product near the beginning of the video so I suspect there is a relationship.

Avoid short trips where your engine never gets fully warmed up. Highway mikes are the best miles.

I understand that some folks have shown some rather ugly examples. One particular example looked horrible on M1 0W-40. I'm calling that one out as NOT TRUE. I've seen thousands of engines, not a single regular M1 user had similar varnish. Not one. In fact, regular M1 users never have sludge, varnish, clogged piston drain holes or coked turbochargers.

What I have seen is people using 0W oils and changing at 12,000+ mile intervals and experiencing cam lobe, roller follower and timing chain wear. This should come as no surprise.
I don't think the cold rating of 0W has any thing to do with it . It is more likely the 12,000 + change intervals .
