Four months service 100 mile roundtrip commute AM traffic jam..evening free highway spirited driving.
Completed Auto Rx txmt, and added RX maintenance dose at onset of OCI. Added Lube control 2 ounce starting at 1000 miles and every 1000 miles...stopped LC at 7000 due to one quart oil consumption...no consumption for last 2200 miles of interval
Visc100 9.9 FE 0 MO 861
Water .3 CR 0 K 21
Soot 0 PB 1
Fuel 0 CU 3
Glycol 0 AL 0
Nitration 6.5 SI 6
TBN 3.5 NA 31

861 of moly??

What is the total mileage on this Accord? I would like to see what this would look like without the RX maintenance dose and all of the Lube Control. Thanks for posting this. I am getting ready to do some runs with this oil on one of my Honda Elements to do some testing with Terry Dyson. I will not be adding anything to it so it should be interesting.

Looks good. I have the same engine in my Accord. I ran RL 8k miles and the viscosity was perfect. I wouldn't add any LC. Not needed. I also added 1/2qt of makeup oil during the interval.

FE = 0, PB = 1.

Wow, talk about no wear.

Interesting how the oil thickened a little though.

**Used Oil Guard's oil analysis they do not include calcium, zinc or phosphorous
**Used Amsoil EAO filter and oilguard bypass system
** Also put on filter mag at beginning of OCI
**Engine had 61500 miles at analysis
** NA 31 and K 21 were high, did not get virgin sample of oil

OilGuard Tests 9elements, 6 wear metals, 3 contaminant metals...Their comments mentioned sodium level was higher than typical...light concentration of water present, Low TBN...but redline starts as a 7 from my understanding, and they mentioned higher viscosity

s_g - I actually wasn't challenging the Pb reading. My new Ody with V6 had ZERO (0) Pb the first analysis. Fe = 0 is amazing!

Sounds like some great filtration, a great oil combo and a very clean engine!

I would give Red Line a call. I don't think they use Sodium and Potassium as an additive. Tell them of your results and they will work with you on this. There pretty up front folks.

Good early morning to you Patman. I just read the good doctors post on this and saw the Sodium, but it does show 0 Potassium on the new sample.

Darn oil chemist, you can't ever figure out what they are up to.

Oil Guard UOA is garbage. A few years ago I bought the 3 UOA deal for $30 and 2 results of 3 were pure trash. Just like this: 0 Fe and 0 Al. No one sane should belive that especially since I knew my subaru would throw high normal Fe (I towed a lot). I said impossible, retest and they argued that the results were perfectly fine. Finely it was retested once and the numbers were all over the map. Fe of 30 supposedly on the same sample. I learned a lesson: never use oil guard, they make up numbers as they go.

yes, it's true that oilguard's oil analysis isn't 100% accurate, but I got to give them some love. They did detect high amounts of sodium/potassium in my dad's nissan sentra. their recommendations aren't worth anything.

I will have to agree with this; I was sent down the wrong path with an interpretation of theirs. However, for basic "what's the TBN" or "do I have a coolant leak", it seems like a good value
