Does anybody know which one will provide better shifts for my 2001 Honda Civic manual transmission? Also, is one safer in terms of better wear control?

The redline makes a huge difference in my 02 civic ex 5spd in the cold(goes into gear better). Much much better than the stock factory fill, but I am sure anything is really. At 14 bucks for 2 quarts(youll only need 1.7), its prevantative maitanence for your car.

I had great results using Red Line MTL in my '90 Integra and '95 Civic. never got a try to use any SpecForm formula while I owned those cars.

For the record, the viscosities for the fluids in question are:

Spec. Form's MTL-P 12.5
Red Line Oil MTL 10.6
Spec. Form's Synchroglide 9.5

Given how far north you are, airbus, I'd opt for the Synchroglide.
