What color RTV sealant for the best differential gasket? Thanks!

any one will work ,make sure the contact surfaces are clean and oil free ,brake cleaner will work as a cleaner and follow the instructions on the rtv package.

if you go with Permatex, make sure you go with the 'ultra' line

I prefer the black RTV sealer. If you use a paper or composite gasket, smear a thin layer of RTV on both sides, let sit for about 3 minutes, and then apply.

If your using the RTV "AS" a gasket, you'll need about a 1/8" to 1/4" thick bead all around.

In that low temp environment, any would work fine.
Clear is crap, however.
