My exact feeling on NXT 2.0. I recommend Armor All Extreme Shield Wax. It's quicker to use than NXT since you don't have to let it haze. You just wet the paint with it then wipe off. Been using for almost 3 years, durability is averaging 9-months to 1 year+ for nightly garaged vehicles. However, you can honestly use it after every car wash if you're nuts enough. It only takes an additional 15 minutes which I don't mind, since I consider car cleaning a workout.
Over the past 20 years, 15 of them I've been using Meguiars Cleaner Wax then moved to NuFinish. The last 5 I finally got the NXT 2 then Armor All. I also use Meguairs #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax (a carnuba) to top the sealants. The NXT 2 and Armor All are the easiest to use. I think that for most people you need at least one have decent paint detail AKA clay bar + wax. Then during washing use a wash+wax then wax as you dry. With that regimen waxing your car becomes less frequent.
