Ok guys just got a fairly low milage Porsche 928gt (5.0L 32v V8) and everyone on the porsche forums seems to say stick with a 50w, because of the flat tappets (and the GT had sharper cam lobes) and im in Colorado where it gets below freezing (wont drive in a blizzard, but on dry winter days still be in the 20's)

So im looking at either Driven DT50 ( have 3qt on hand already) or Redline 15w50.

please give me your thoughts, im about to do this oil change this weekend.

thanks guys!

If going through the effort of buying boutique like redline you might as well get the 5w-50 they have. Hths of 5.0 and 6% noack it's a good 5w-50. But M1 15w-50 off the walmart shelf is good to use even at 20f just drive it softly until it warms up.

I went with dt50 since I already had 3 bottles from my Cayenne oil change. Also i watched a video (albeit with 5-30) comparing mobil1 to redline at cold pour and the redline was notably thicker.

If i plan to do an extended cold weather driving I might put in 5-50.
