I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the General Arctic tires... Got them for $350 shipped through ebay with Bing cashback, Mr. Rebates, Ebay bucks and a certificate I had.

Looking forward to using them this winter!!

A couple of months ago, I would have bought the Kumho's. Today, it's the Hankook's. By Oct, it could be something else!
The worst thing that I hear about the Kumho Solus KR-21's is for an 80,000 mile tire, they only last 40,000-50,000 miles at best. Other wise there a great tire at probably the best price in their catigory. Not the cheapest tire but the best price/quality and satisfaction. I've turned on lots of friends/family to these Kumho's and they all love the ride/handling, sharp turning around corners without the squishiness, straight highway tracking and smooth quiet ride.

Oh yeah! and they balance easy first time around. Not that they won't need a rebalance as miles pile on but even the installers comment on how easy the Kumho's balance.
