gonna drop the pan and do a filter change in my 06 ram 1500. 115k. automatic trans. not many places around here (except parts stores and not paying that price) sell ATF+4.. so here's what i got to choose from. trying to save some cash if possible.

Supertech for $4.27 a quart
Citgo transguard (says synthetic) for $4.99
Pennzoil platinum $5.49

will the supertech do? the other 2 are sold at a fleet store a few more miles down the road. is the supertech synthetic?

Yes, the SuperTech ATF+4 will do just fine as all ATF+4 is made to specification under license. Also, you should be able to mix(if needed) any/all brands of ATF+4.

Any one of those ATF+4 will work. Does the Supertech come in gallon jugs as well?

Does your transmission pan have a drain plug? If not, you might want to install one for future maintenance.

I use W/M ATF+4 in all my Chrysler cars & Vans.

Yeah - ST works fine - I've used it on several cars.

The cheapest I found was on Amazon and in the form of Havoline ATF+4 because I too could not find enough at walmart. I know amazon is not local but with prime it is very fast.

I forgot about that. Seems the price has gone up again on it though ($58.63 right now). I know it has been as cheap as $37 for 12 qts for it.

All ATF +4 is synthetic.

thanks guys! only needed 7 quarts for a pan drop... forgot about our Menards here (like a Lowe's) sold valvoline atf+4... and i had 25 bucks in rebates to spend there. had 1 quart sitting at home, so got 6 quarts for 5 bucks... can't beat that with a stick

AAP used to be the best place to buy ATF when they had their sales. I bought (2) 6 quart cases of Castrol at $3ish per quart 2 years ago. Then later that winter, 2 local AZ's had the stuff on clearance at $1 a quart. I then bought what they had.

I try to do yearly siphon and refills and a filter change every other year. I am about due for a new filter next spring. It'll have about 40k on it by then.

I have used a bunch of ST ATF+4 with excellent results. Just added 8 quarts to the Ram when I added the mag-hytech pan. Great price too. I just wish they sold it by the gallon.

If your transmission doesn't have a drain plug, get an aftermarket pan that has one
