It varies per location, here it's start of spring and fall. As many are franchised, up to the owner.

Others may chime in.

I want a say in the line. Use the Honda filters, either kind, bought from real Honda dealers on ebay etc for low prices. They aren't cardboard, this is false information. Cardboard wouldn't stand up to oil. Don't need to think more about oil filters than to use what dealer service uses. I especially would look for the USA made Honda version. They don't casually spec their filter, it's tested. You want another stash of quality low cost filters, that would do it. There.

I just check Wix website. It says Wix (white can) is good for 3000 miles but it seems that people been running it much longer, 5-8000 miles, about double.

I haven't seen/heard of any torn media on Wix/NG. Anyone else seen otherwise?

The white ProTec is basically Wix's jobber tier filter. Be most similar to the new Super Tech (for your Honda ST9688) or MicroGard, Napa Pro Select. While they can be stretched farther, best suited to ~5k oci with a nitrile adbv.

However, if looking for most equivalent to P1, the Wix/Napa Gold with silicone adbv would be it. The anecdotes of Wix/Napa Gold posted here have looked good.

The Fram Ultra has "rough holes"! LOL!!!

I have had success with Fram FPS filters that I get online by the case. Cost by the 6 or 12 pack is about $6each shipped

Both OEM filters A01 and A02 have always been good on both of the Honda's I put them on so I don't usually go with anything else for my Honda's. I cut open every single one and they've all been flawless inside for 7000 mile runs in cold weather, nice straight pleats too.

I'm one of the weird ones that actually prefer the Honeywell A02 over the A01. The A02 has bigger holes on the baseplate (which probably don't do anything) and the glue between every pleat / no end cap design on the A01 weirds me out. Feels like more that can accidentally become detached. Whenever I order from the online dealership they send me a mix of A01 and A02, last order was all A01 unfortunately.

If you don't go OEM I've had nothing but good experiences with Wix and Denso for the other cars.
