I haven't tested it yet, but the Cadillac cranks a little slower than I'd like so I'm going to price some batteries in the mean time.

It's got a big ol' group 79 in it, looks like $150-$190 is the going rate depending on brand. I can order a cheapo FVP Voltedge for around $120.

Ideas?

I really like Odyssey batteries, as per my other posts. They are expensive, but very reliable. I rather get a quality product. Although; any man made product will fail.

I purchased an Odyssey AGM for our o4 Camry and have been very satisfied with performance. They are very well made and crank our V6 super fast.

Group 79 is a weirdo battery. Very similar Group 78 is very common and about half the price. I've had good luck with Costco Interstate - 42 month full replacement.

Them and northstar, these days batteries are not to skimp over with all the work they have to do

I think the ac Delco are pretty good. I am going to replace mine with a Delco 79PG when the time comes. 42 month replacement battery.

Unfortunately the group 78 doesn't have the vent ports for the under seat placement in this car. Looks like the Delco 79PG is probably the way to go. They last a ridiculously long time in these cars, might as well go with the "original".

Thanks for that important info - I wasn't aware that was the battery placement. I could tell you horror stories about in car batteries....... especially those under a seat.
