Well, I took it all apart, claened the MAF WITH MAF cleaner, Then cleaned the intake with inatake cleaner, Zero troubles to report. The truck is a smidge more responsive (or seems to be anyways). cleaned and re-oiled my K&N airfilter. All intake parts were cleaned while i had it apart (Ductwork ect).. looks good running great.. thanks for everyones input.

^How dirty was your K&N air filter? There is a chance by cleaning too soon and re-oiling has created a situation that may allow for fouling of the MAF. I'd inspect your MAF in about a week to see if the oil from the air filter made it's way onto the MAF at all. If it's okay still, you should be good.

For reference, K&N claims users clean the filters too often and naturally as a result this allows for more chances to improperly re-oil the filter. Not saying you did this, just throwing that out there is all.

I had 20,000 miles on the K&N, it wasnt super nasty but it was Dirty, i used k&n filter cleaner, rinsed with cool tap water after 10-15 minutes, then let the filter bake in the sun for a few hours, After baking i very LIGHTLY re-oiled being very cautious not to over oil, put it back out in the Sun for several hours.. then let it sit on my workbench overnight.. Next mornning i took a papertowel to it wiping down everything for any excess oil.. reinstalled. I would venture to guess there was more oil on it from the factory than what i put on it.. but i will take your advise and next weekend i will pull the MAF back off it and inspect it.. from what ive read youl know if you have a screwy MAF becouse in these trucks it effects alot. I have plenty of MAF cleaner, if i see any oil on it.. easy fix.. and after a week ad say any oil that was going to come off the filter has probably done so already.

I installed the K&N filter in July of 2008, this was its first cleaning.

Good deal, thank you for the response. Just for re-emphasis, re-oiling is 'recommended' to be done via the side that initially filters the air I suppose your method was fine otherwise. Great job and look forward to more feedback.

PS: Power Foam is a good product when used correctly, but since OP has a MAF it's hard to use with engine running(the way Power Foam and other combustion chamber induced cleaners recommend being used for best results); let alone the risk for any of the chemical getting on the MAF would make it something to gently work with.

I'd have the engine warm or cold(not extremely hot otherwise be more careful regarding the fumes) and use whatever Throttle Body cleaner first since it's more mild than a carb cleaner and can be had for $3-$4 so it won't break the bank and can be used on another persons car for $5 to clean their TB for them. Right?
