recomendations for a 03 evo

i have an 03 mitsubisi evolution 8 running at 26psi out of the turbo and wonder if i should be using something different than royal purple 10-30. i know it gets hot during the summer months i.e. 90-100 celcius on my gauge. what would be the best oil to stand up to the heat? i change it about every 2500-3000 miles

Isn't the recommended oil for the evo 8 a 5w40?

If so, as a year-round oil I would suggest redline 5w40; it's basically ideal for your application (talking performance-wise ignoring cost). However, if you're interested in a summer-only oil a 10w40 (or even a 10w50 if you track the car in the summer) might be optimum. Redline (again) or perhaps Motul 300V would be good choices whatever weight you choose.

In a modded EVO, I'd be stepping up to 40w oils.
