Going to be replacing the tranny fluid, oil and filter and the front brakes and rotors on my daughters 2006 Acura RSX this weekend. I figured the oil and filter should be good for 10K.

That's what I like to see.... a photo with very high quality parts for your car.

BTW, how does you daughter like her RSX?
I might buy an RSX for my son.

She loves her RSX. Her old car was a '98 Pontiac Sunfire with 230K when it gave up the ghost. I'm not sure, but it looks like the RSX may have the same tranny as my Civic. It's the base model and only has 60K on it. I figure if I use good parts and do the regular maintenance it should last a long time.

It holds more than 3 qts, but when I did the drain on my Civic, only 3 qts came out. Since it looks like the same tranny, I figured the amount would be the same, at least that's what the guys on the RSX forum say. I know some folks who do a drain and refill 3 or 4 times to flush out most of the old fluid. I plan on doing another 3 qt drain and refill at 75K.

some tips:
-put back in the same amount of fluid that came out. Use those 5 quart jugs to measure
-caliper bolts are 25ft pounds, those can strip, so dont overtighten

i dont think the rsx and civic have the same transmission....two different engines.
