Last week I was at the farmers market and noticed a small sign that the dairy farmer had. I usually buy ice cream from them and most of my time is spent on choosing the flavor I/we want. Had never paid attention to the other signs.

The small sign said "Raw milk products for pets available". So I asked what they meant and it turns out that farmers are allowed to sell raw milk and derivatives if it's for pet consumption. I thought any raw milk product was banned in Indiana (and the US generally).

So I bought a gallon of milk for my cat for 9 dollars. Let me tell you one thing - it is by far the best milk I have bought in the US. When I visit home I only drink raw milk (they don't have silly laws like in the US).

I spilled a little the other day and the cat loved it, too. But he drinks anything. His favorite beverage is Guiness - he guzzles it down. Stella Artois is his second choice

Is milk pasteurizing a US law? I thought it was state by state, but that was years ago. I know in Cali, I used to buy raw milk products from Alta Dena dairy. There is really little risk in fermented products like kefir, yogurt, cheese, sour cream, etc. I agree heat pasteurizing kills flavor.

That's funny - "for your cat" and he gets beer instead!

You are not allowed to sell raw milk in the US for human consumption. Its a dumb law.

I laughed when I saw that...like the "naturally smoked" tuna a guy at work gets.

Raw milk is illegal down here, but you can get raw goat milk :blech:

I've had milk warm, and straight from the cow it was very very nice (and that says a lot, because I don't touch the stuff normally)

I guess the non-naturally smoked is when they charge the smoke particles negative and the to-be-smoked meat positive and then pass the smoke around the meat.

So, A2 milk is just milk, right? What's the diff between the jugs with the blue logo labels, versus the red ones?

I don't care much for drinking milk. To me it tastes sort of like wet hay smells. I do however love hot cocoa (I use Dutch-processed cocoa powder and rum) and of course I'm a cheese and yogurt fanatic. I do put milk sometimes in black tea and always in coffee.

im not such a cow milk fan, but i love very vanilla silk (tofu milk). its cheaper too.

anyways, therer is one kind of milk ill drink. but its pretty rate.
