Anyone here used Ravenol VMO 5W-40 in an LT1? It has Dexos2 cert. I have no complaints whatsoever with the Mobil 1 0W-40 ESP, just having heard great things about the German-made oils, I thought I would ask the question. My thinking is starting with the 5 instead of 0, maybe it's a little "stronger" or might provide better protection in the beast that is the LT1
I haven't heard of anyone yet on the Corvette Forum trying this oil out, it's hard to get most of the guys to switch from Mobil 1 5w30 actually, a lot of them won't even switch to the new 0w40 ESP Formula due to availability (or lack therof) and higher cost.
I still am happy with M1 ESP Formula 5w30, it's not German made but it is from France I believe, so that's kinda close
A thicker 5W-30 (albeit NOT as thick as most of the xW-40s @ 3.5 HTHSV) is the Revenol REP, which IS Dexos 2 certified.
It is classed as a 'racing oil' by Ravenol, but I have no idea how it would hold up to extended open track use in a C7, as is 2019StingrayZ51's inteneded use.
They DO claim a PAO/POE base stock mix though, sot there's that.
