We must be about the same age. Shame on me. In reality, my Opel was a good car. It was my first car ever, paid for by me. It's what I cut my teeth on starting into shade tree mechanics: carb rebuild, points/condenser/plugs, ball joint, stick shift, bondo. My girlfriend, now wife, had some "fun" times in that car. My future father-in-law bought a '74 Opel Manta. When I sold that car with 65K on the odometer, that was considered "getting up in miles" back then.
Now, on with Toyota bashing!
