Ratcheting Wrenches - which styles do you use?

I would buy the Icon, easy in store lifetime warranty.
Do you know who makes Icon ratcheting wrenches or are you aware of the same tool under a different name?

I found a video on Facebook where a guy found the base Icon ratchets under a different name. 3/8” and 1/4” plus metric and standard sockets for $40

I’m happy with my Gearwrench ratchets although I admit I have never tried one of the Icons. With my mix of Snap-Ons and Gearwrenches, I really never never thought of needing anything more.

As to ratcheting wrenches, the Taiwanese invented the ratcheting wrench. This is a Taiwanese tool and the Taiwanese really know how to make a good one although Snap-On did a great job on its own design. The inventor of the ratcheting wrench leads Hi-FIVE tools which is the company that makes the ICON and the Proto Taiwanese reversible ratcheting wrenches (newtools.com). There is a wealth of expertise and experience refining the design and manufacturing of ratcheting wrenches here.

I got some Tektons when they were clearing out the 6pt ones a while back. Someone on here mentioned they don't buy the combination wrenches since they rarely use the open ends. I went "aha!" and realized it made more sense to get the ones with both closed ends and different sizes, which also reduces the number of wrenches needed.

Ratchet I use the most is actually the 1/4" plastic body from HF (oval handle). Very low back drag, light weight, non conductive, and I think I paid $5 back in the day on sale? Plus lifetime warranty. 2nd would be old school 36 tooth Craftsman 3/8" Professional long handle.

Still have stubby and full size USA Craftsman flex combo wrenches that come in handy at times.

That would be Mr Subaru striking again. He didn't bother to tell the EP Auto is made by EDING and uses a dual pawl like the Pittsburgh and not the single pawl used in the Icon made by Infar.
I have found it is a good thing to be skeptical of the tool "test" channels, their bias is out of this world yet they find ways to massage their results to fit their own bias.

I went ahead and ordered one for work. We shall see how it is.

Did you all see that Amazon has sold over 12,000 of those sets? Of course they're rated at 4.5 stars like 90% of Amazon items, so no help there.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I find reviews somewhat useless and annoying.

They’ll review something that’s brand new right out of the box. “Packaging was great.” “Seems well made.” I’ve even read some where they say they hadn’t used it yet. Lol

The set I bought came in. They seem fine and I’m sure will do great for work or a spare set. I didn’t leave a review though. 🤡
