Im getting streaking. Installed in december. I guess the ice ripped the blade in some spots. I do my best to clear the glass.. Oh well. Im open to suggestions for replacements. Shoot!

I have Bosch icon's on my vehicles.

They seem to last longer than some of the others i've tried (rain x, PIAA silicone, etc)

+1

The more expensive the blade, the worse it's worked for me. We use the Bosch premium $19.99 blades at work because we have to. They last maybe 3-4 months before they're chattering again, and it's back to Firestone Complete Auto Care for another $40's worth of Bosch blades.

I've come to use only OEM blades/inserts on my vehicles. Our CR-V has the OEM Matsuba-branded inserts and I haven't changed them since I bought the car, which is closing in on two years ago (though they are getting due). I just replaced the inserts on our MDX this winter, and we bought it in November of 2010.

For aftermarket blades that I've used in the past, I've had the best luck with the cheap Michelin blades or the cheap Anco blades. But neither comes close to the OEM rubber.

Yeah, the Rain-Xs dont last. I like the Michelin stealth. Seems to be lasting so far, and I keep using them on ice with some ice-melt washer sauce since Im a lazy person.

I bought a -2 size wiper blade for the driver's side - it was name brand. I couldn't find a name brand -2 size for the passenger side so I went to Ollies and bought a wiper blade for $2.

Guess which one works fine? Not the name brand.

I always have better luck with cheaper wiper blades.

I've had good runs with Bosch Icons. I recently swapped them to try some inexpensive Goodyear blades I picked up at Costco. We'll see how they do. Good do far, but it had only been about 45 days.

I've had good luck with Rain-X....sounds like the ice might have torn yours up...that can happen to any wiper...

I've got a mix of Bosch, OE, PIAA and Rain-X on the cars below...they're all good, though the PIAA seem to last longer, I don't know that they're worth the extra $$$

I started replacing the blades with the cheapest ones walmart sells. I can get them to last just as long as anything else doing something controversial.

Like I"ve always said, the expensive blades aren't any better, they just cost more...I use the Ancos and just replace them twice a year...

I'd like to know the truth, but my suspicion is that most of the main brands of wipers are made by the same few companies. I can't imagine there are hundreds of wiper factories out there to match the hundreds of brands that are seemingly available.

If what I say is true, somewhere out there are people reading threads like this, chuckling at "I like wiper A, I hate wiper B" comments, knowing that the same company that made both.

Wiper blades seem to be sold aftermarket as a gimmick. They promise practically everything....yet in the end are really not substantially better than either OEM or an inexpensive set. I've had my share of the 'top' end blades and must say that they do work well at first....yet quickly fade in performance. My best overall luck has been to go back to the dealer and buy the OEM blades. They seem to last almost 2 years. I should know....as I live in the rain/drizzle capital of the country.

I had the rain x brand. They lasted halfway through the thirds drop trying to break the ice off them. So now I buy the cheapest ones I can find at Walmart.
