Do 'all' upper or lower radiator hoses contain springs to prevent collapse ? ? ?
When squeezing the hoses, I do not feel any spring inside.

I have a 2002 Ford ranger
6 Cylinder / 3.0 Liter

Several years ago, I had a Dealer do some work.
While they were at it, I said "change both radiator hoses".
Originals were OEM
Replacements are OEM

I have the hoses they removed, no spring inside.
I just wonder if mechanic removed the spring from old hose and never installed it into new hose.

Other than my question, I am not experiencing any problems.
I guess I could check the hoses during the cooling down period and check for any collapse.

Again, do 'all' upper or lower radiator hoses contain springs to prevent collapse ? ? ?

Thank you for any help.

A spring is not necessary in radiator hoses. If you have a hose that is 'collapsed', you have a bad vacuum relief valve in the radiator cap.

Or a clogged radiator. The water pump can create enough pressure differential across a clogged radiator to collapse the return hose- which is why more lower hoses have them than uppers. But nowdays most hoses are molded stiff enough to resist collapse without the spring.
