In short, how good are Motul racing oils in ordinary, passenger car applications? A buddy of mine might be interested in some. Are they robust enough for an oil change of 5000 to 7000 miles? I know they were intended for the shorter intervals of race cars.

I would say 3,000 top. They have little to no detergents, and the anti-wear additives are not designed to last as long.

With my used oil analysis on Motul 300V 5w40 I was able to run it to 6,000mi on a modified car and still have a decent TBN left.

Motul 300V can go 4000 miles.

Gotcha. I wasn't aware of 300V containing detergents.
