After the DexosR backwards compatibility announcement, and 0w40 FS going SP with low Ca, this could potentially be the perfect oil for these turbo ATS in our climate.

Poured the 0w40 FS SP in yesterday and I can barely hear my engine under 4k rpms now, and the cold morning piston slap sounds 100 feet away and disappears much quicker. I wasn't expecting a noticeable difference, but there it is.

I have both ATS's side by side and the one with more mileage and the 40 weight purrs, while the other one does what I thought was purring before..... but it's just noisy and unsettling. Need to watch the tach more under 4k now cause there's not much vibration feedback. Other ATS is getting the same after this short run of PEA cleaner.

That's about as much science as you'll get from me.

Not quite a 1:1 comparison, but I just dumped the ST HM 10w30 out of my '95 Seville and replaced it with Castrol Euro 5w40. It had a bit of a "tick" when hot while using the 10w30, but it's completely gone after a couple hundred miles with the 5w40. From here on out it won't be getting anything else, although I may switch to a 0w40 for winter.
