Quick help... Brothers car just stalled, cant jump

Even if you are troubleshooting in person the first thing to check on a computer controlled vehicle is the trouble codes. Thats why I carry a cheap code reader. The code will not necessarily tell you what exact problem is, but it will point you in the right direction. In this case the MAF sensor, but if there were no codes stored it would suggest you look at things not monitored like the the fuel pump.

I had an old oldsmobile 'Touring Sedan' with a 3800 (it was new at the time), it was acting strange - a friend suggested I tap on the back of the MAF with a screwdriver handle while it was idling. He said if it stumbled or died to replace it. He was right.
