Questions regarding A3/B4 vs API

Hi guys,

I gonna buy some Shell 5W40 oil, and I learn everyday more about oil, I'm just an regular user, no oil experience, but I find it quite interesting!
My question is the following:

If I drive short trips, with an gasoline turbocharged engine (1500cc and 230 HP), I drive the car hard (when it on temp ofc). but I've read also that the A3/B4 oil spec, is not so good when I drive short drives. What is than a better spec? API SN?

Other questions: Does GTL means that the oil is hydrocracked? And if so, is that a bad thing?

From what I read on the internet:
"GTL hydrocracking is different from refinery hydrocracking because sulfur- and nitrogen-containing species and (poly)aromatics are absent. In terms of reactor design, however, GTL and refinery hydrocrackers are similar."

Short drives are harder on the auto as a whole not just the oil. However either oil should work but API only 5w-40 may be harder to find these days. Shell should be a readily available option.

perhaps he means that he has a DI engine and that he heard/read that low/mid saps is better for his engine and use like short trips//but thats a guess.he might want to answer that..

ACEA and API can't really be compared because they test for different things. For your application it's not going to make a difference.

You are a bit all over the place; What car and why the Shell 5W40?
Your API SN and A3 are pretty much irrelevant in a 40 grade oil - but you are moving into mid high SAPS territory

Is this a current Civic Si or 강남스타일 turbo cart?
