Questions: All things Chevy Truck (2008)

Everyone,

This forum truly has the greatest wealth of knowledge on the internet, so I feel I would simply be better served asking on this board vs. any other.
All questions related to new Chevy body style, full size Work Truck 2008 Ext. Cab.

1. Floor mats. My floor covered in vinyl (WT), I still utilize floor mats but they slide all over the place. Experiences/ideas?
I have Chevy HD rubber mats, they look great, but again they are everywhere.

2. Under bench storage compartment. I have seen the GM version. I have also heard DU HA makes a nice version. Experiences/Ideas?

3. Bed liner, Bed Mat, Spray In? All suggestions experiences welcome.

4. Bed tool box ...

5. Bed rails ....

6. Placement of aftermarket gauges .. (Volt, Oil Psi)

Hey,

For the floor mats you could get dome buttons and screw a couple into the floor and then put the other part on the mat. This would make them stay in place and detachable for cleaning. (My uncle did this and he works in construction)

For the gauges I would put them on your A-Pillar above the dash, there are nice kits to make them look like they were always there.

As for a bed liner, I think the spray on Rino-Liner is the best. It seems to stand up to my uncles abuse day-in/day-out and he has had it for a few years...

As far as floor mats if you live near an Advance Auto they had some where you would screw a part into the carpet or vinyl floor and then you would put the floor mat on it, it has a hole for the part you screwed into the floor and that holds them where you want them. They were discontinued, lack of sales I believe so you might be able to get a set cheap.

I agree with the spray on bed liner and A Pillar for the gauges.

I have a Line X bedliner and love it. It looks much better than a DIY job or a horrid plastic liner, has a lifetime warranty and will add value to your truck when you sell it.

On the spray in .... are you spraying to top bed edge rail? I've seen it done both ways.... I do not think I like the look of the spray on the top edge. (May it depends on how it is done?)

I always end up scratching the top of bed rail some how.

Also I think it would depend on the color of the truck. a red truck wouldn't look bad with black rail but I can't say the same for something like silver truck.

I have an SLE1 08 GMC Sierra. I have WeatherTech Floor liners front and rear, ext cab, they are hands down top of the line and do not move. I have an Armor-Thane spray in liner over the rail. Looks great and its very tough with a lifetime warranty against fading and cracking.

You need to come to GM-Trucks.com for better info..

My truck is done under the rail because I prefer the look and its not a work truck per se, really a personal truck. The Line X dealer told me almost every one he does is over the rail, a better choice for commercial use as it offers more protection when taking items in and out of the bed.

NEVER EVER screw anything into the floor to hold down mats! I too have rubber factory flooring and have mats on top,they slide a little but it isn't that big of a deal,let it go.

Spray in liner,under rail

gmpartsdirect for the plastic bed caps,double sided tape,form fitted,no worries

Under seat storage things are way over priced!

Tool box,cheap is not the way to go!

Audi did this and they are a car manufacturer!
