I just did an oil change in my motorcycle , only 1500 miles in the oil (delvac 15w40), and yes the oil is black, my question is can I use this used oil as top off oil for my Saturn which is an oil burner ?

Should be dual rated CJ/SM which is ok to run in your Saturn. I did the same thing with my Taurus and seems to have slowed down oil burning. It was using a quart every 4k miles now it close to 5.5k

I'm not sure why you would want to use it.. new oil is 2$ quart if you shop around. What kind of stuff is floating around in that used oil?

I wouldnt personally use used oil in anything. Its good for recycling and burning tree stumps out is bout all I can think of.

if its not good enough for your bike then its not good enough for your Saturn. Like someone else said, oil can be as cheap as 2 dollars a quart. just use the cheapest oil you can find that meets specs (that way you don't run into an oil like citystar lol)

1500 miles on a bike is alot different then 1500 miles on a car.
is the bike air cooled? Carburated? you already says it uses a wet clutch, that means the oil is used for the transmission too, thats alot of work for an oil to do and most bikes get riden much more aggressive then cars too. its also over a year old.

go buy some cheap clean oil and use that.

Only way I could see re-using it is if you had a centrifugal style double filtration system we used on the LPD ship I was on. That or a spinner filter system you could take element out and clean the carbon, crud and such out of, those catch a ton of gunk. We used old oil for stump removing on uncle and grandfathers farm. Now I take my oil to local machine shop as guy uses it for heat in his waste oil furnace, or to advance, autozone or napa.

If you let it set a couple weeks the floaters(if there were any, I doubt it) will have sank to the bottom, pour off the top, recycle the remainder...

My own opinion is that if the car is using so much oil that you're thinking about putting old oil in it, you might want to have the problem diagnosed and fixed.

It cost to much money to fix it , I dont mind if only burn 1q every 1000 miles ( my car is a Saturn )

I'd use it

As mentioned though, I'd recommend filtering it somehow.....paper towels, or toilet paper work good :P Or some coffee filters (check/compare prices lol)......

If the car burns that much, I can't see the oil hurting that much...

Each summer when I changed the oil(used < 1K miles) in my '80 Firebird FORMULA, I'd save the oil in a clean gallon jug for adding ONLY to the oil burner Plymouth TURISMO 2.2L

My '66 Chryslers only get around 300 miles annually, so I use the oil from them in other cars. I pour it through a cut open STP ecore filter first.

I would not. I would rather pour fresh super tech 5w30 in my car rather than used Mobil 1 0w-40.

I wouldn't worry too much about the partial combustion products and heat damage, but the wet clutch material is a little differnt. If you don't mind clutch debris, ferrous and fibrous, go ahead. Lightly used auto oil is doesn't have the same contaminants as a wet clutch application. I think that the comparison is a little silly.
