I looked at the virgin oil tables and found oils showing various "units" of different things they use in their additive packs. For example, Havoline 5w20 shows around 400 "units", or whatever they are called, of moly. I know some good oils do not even have moly as everyone has a different idea of what to put in their oil to lubricate well but this is just an example.

Now, I assume if you put a quart of Havoline in your engine you should have 400 units of moly in there. If you put 5 quarts in does that mean you will have 2000 units (400x5)? And if so, how does this impact on the UOA results? I mean, if your UOA comes back showing you have 100 units of moly in your sample, does that mean you have depleted 1900 units of the moly you put in? Again, this is using the example above where you did an oil change and put in 5 quarts of Havoline. Does this kind of math, assuming I am correct, work with all the other things they put in oils?

Those "units" you speak of are PPM. Parts Per Million.

400 ppm means in every 1,000,000 TOTAL parts (total molecules) there are 400 parts of that constiturnt. So adding more of the exact blend will not increase any one of the individual parts.
