I went into my local Kmart on Sunday to see if they had Quaker State on sale. My store carried conventional in 1 quart bottles and 5 quart jugs, and Defy in 5 quart jugs. All of the quart bottles were gone, all of the 5 quart jugs of conventional were gone, and only six 5 quart jugs of Defy were left. I found an assistant manager and the main store manager, and they scanned the price labels for all. They are showing it to be discontinued. That is the extent of the answer I was given. Was just wondering if anyone here knows about a package change with Quaker State oils? I figure it's that, the store is discontinuing Quaker State, or there is a reformulation. The latter seems unlikely since GF-6 isn't due until 2017, correct? Thanks in advance.

Might be. Too bad, the five quarts for $13.00 sale was nice.
Kmart isn't the greatest store, I'll throw that out there. My local AAP stocks the Defy 10W-40 I like, so I guess I'll wait for another 5 quart and filter deal.
K mart is not even close to being a good store, Sorry! That changed when sears bought them totally down hill from there.

Actually K-Mart bought Sears, mostly for their real estate holdings. That is why it is called Sears Holding Company. Ticker SHLD But Sears' huge mess, dragged K-Mart even lower.

I think everything is being discontinued at kmart..they should discontinue their stores..

I actually like going to Kmart whenever possible. It's like a time machine.
I went to one out of state while on vacation last fall and picked up a bottle of Pennzoil 10W-40 that was SJ rated. It makes a great wall decoration.

It was a bit confusing. I tried to buy the remaining Defy for a bargain price, but no dice.
k mart is a joke if you went for the $13.00 Quaker State oil and they were out of it get a rain check !!
It looked like they were actually phasing it out. The Super S space was extended over into the Quaker State space. Funny thing is, there is still Valvoline SynPower and Pennzoil Conventional on the shelf that is over a decade old. The Quaker State was current.
