What interval did the OLM recommend?

These 5.0's have a 7.7 qt sump. A TBN of 3.2 after 3,000 miles - how would this last the usual 7,500 - 10K?

When I deliberately ran my IOLM on my 3.7L F-150 down to low single digits (around 9k+ miles) and tested, the standard Quicklane oil and filter change, the oil was still OK—-barely. Good wear numbers but zero margin of error.

For fancy-pants oil like this and a good filter, I would feel confident doing that on a regular basis.

Weirdly low iron reading on such a new engine. Can’t complain I guess.

Based on my driving, 8,500 recommendation. I’m sure it’d last fine, probably try 4,000 next. I mean, I have 12 gallons of it.

Excellent wear metals! I would stick with your oil and filter and bump your oci up 1k miles.

What did the TBN start out as? Is TBN depletion linear, or does it accelerate/decelerate over time?

It certainly is. Check the approvals. As you would expect from a top-line oil from Shell, a $200 billion multinational integrated oil company.

My OLM on my 2019 F-150 is showing 26% with a little less than 5K miles. It is showing and estimated distance of 1550 miles left FWIW. I usually change at 5K.

From what I understand, TBN is not linear. I have seen some reports that imply that TBN usage does slow down as you get into an OCI, but the only way to know for sure is to test.

This is exactly why I want to start low, then run the miles up each OCI. See how it holds out, but in a safe manner.
