This is my dad’s truck. He puts on around 3k per month. My fear was that the 2015-2017 ecoboosts were DI only and he would have fuel dilution issues. Needless to say, my fears were confirmed. I convinced him to go to 5k OCI.

Could you convince him to use a 40 grade at least?
40 grade would be a harder sell. He likes to stick to what the oil fill cap says. I will mention it next time we talk about it and see what he says. At least with shorter OCIs he will keep it from building up so badly. Also threw a can of BG 44k in the tank just in case.

Easy then, just any 5w-30 European oil could add a bit of a buffer. Most Euro 5w-30's off the shelf will have a higher HT/HS than this Amsoil product.
 
The oil did quite well for 12k miles. The wear metals are all very low. Viscosity is low due to fuel dilution over 5%, which B/S Labs would never be able to measure accurately. Virgin oxidation is 48 for this oil. Barely moved at all at 50. TBN of 3.3 showing some reserve left.

A 40 grade will maybe give you a 30 grade in this same scenario so going up a grade wouldn't hurt.

The issue here is the fuel dilution. You may be able to band aid the problem with a 40 grade.

Agreed it did very well considering the fuel dilution. One thing to note, however, is this is from Oil Analyzers Inc, not blackstone. I love Amsoil products, but I think two scenarios where they are not worth it are high fuel dilution and high oil consumption. At that point, better off doing 5k OCIs with an off the shelf oil and test again.

Yeah I was glad you used Oil Analyzers and not B/S Labs. I agree. (y)

I've run 3 UOAs on a 2016 F-150 3.5 EB for a member of my family.
I will posts the results later today
The 1st and 2nd UOA had considerable fuel dilution. However after I had a Catch Can installed the fuel dilution went away, while the OCI was increased from 12.5k to 15.5k miles. Which looks like the top of the OCI range given the TBN dropped to <2 at 1.77
Going forward I'll most likely stick to a 10k OCI

There's a lot of fuel dilution but the engine didn't seem to mind too much. 1.916 ppm per 1k miles on iron with all the other wear metals in the margin of error, more or less. The engine will probably outlive the truck at this rate, considering the location is in the Rust Belt.

M1 ESP at 5K OCI is of good of a plan as any.
