Here we have a Quaker State 3675A oil filter that was run for 5K with Citgo Syn Blend 5w30. Was used pulling a 7x16 enclosed trailer over 1000 miles in one day (long day!)

Was going to do more trailer hauling so I decided to swap out the oil and filter (switched it to full synthetic.)

ADBV was still pliable, but was stiff. Overall for an under $2 filter it looks like it did a good job and probably could have went longer.

filter held up well-
IMO I wouldn't have run it 1 mile longer though-From the picture that looks like some pretty nasty stuff it caught. Has the 5.3 had regular/resonable OCIs in the past?

Oil looks like it did its job - looks black and yucky.

Media looks like it held up well though. I will agree with steve20 and say 5k is probably all I would run it.

You can't beat this for $2 though. No way.

Good job!

I've owned the suburban since 173k... Have done 3k oil changes for around 20k and then 5k oil changes.

This was my first run of a synthetic blend (citgo supergard)... I'm guessing she cleaned some [censored] out of the engine. Burned some oil that run but I was pulling a trailer.

Definitely the engine isn't dying (purrs like a kitten)... I also had 2 oxygen sensors out on it so it was running rich as well.

Ive got the oxygen sensor fixed and put in full synthetic with a Mobil 1 filter... Hopefully do some cleaning...

^Sounds great, I don't think it's dying myself but who can really tell from an oil filter alone without more contributing details, etc?

That's what confused me from the post above me, but it's probably just out of context.
