In my grief after finding out that my local Meijer no longer carriers Purolator filters, I stopped by Menards to drown my sorrows in a few Quaker State (made by Purolator) filters. I drive a V6 Honda that takes a 14459 purolator or 3593A in the Fram numbering system. Anyhow, the QS numbering system seem to be converting from the Fram-based numbers to Purolator numbers. The 3593A showed as discontinued, but the book called for the new number to be 14461. This filter looks a little taller than the 14459. The canister states it is made in the USA by SOPUS. Any thoughts on the change? I bought a couple of the 14461 , but was wondering if anyone knows hat is going on.

Did is say made by SOPUS or distributed by SOPUS. The reason I ask is, SOPUS does not make filters, it makes oil. Should be a Purolator. If it is a white filter with green lettering, it's a Purolator.

That seems weird. At my local Menards, they still have Quaker State filters with the same numbering system (3593A - same one I use), but I'm pretty sure they are still Purolators. Perhaps they are transitioning to the Purolator numbering system in a marketing move to show that they are no longer made by Fram?
