PYB sn worth switching for?

PYB is just a very, very stout/good oil. I dont see any "seems" about it honestly. I used it in my first car, a 94' corolla without issue. I dont think anyone can go wrong using PYB myself. I dislike castrol products myself as the price I cannot justify. See they finally marked it down to $16.89 at my wal mart. No thanks, I will take my PYB at wally world for $14.87 any day

I got a pretty good stash of GTX and GTXHM this summer. I've used a greatd bit of it up changing oil in our vehicles and family vehicles as well. This summer i'll be switching to PYB and PennHM, just can't beat the add pack in pennzoil.

Hey, and yeah, I would think that GTX has a good add pack too seein as how its made by BP I think. Never used it, but the neighbor uses it in his gran prix and push mower without problems.

How does gtx not damage engines without boron and moly? They not needed? Does gtx just rely on zinc for friction modifier?

Never seen any damage using this or valvoline. Proof that moly and boron are
Not "needed"? Maybe less is more?

In my area gtx is the cheapest, goes down to $10.88 for 4.4 liters . Maybe you get what you pay for?

The primary anti-wear is the oil/lube itself. The 'increased' or 'enhanced' anti-wear properties/capabilities are affected by additive packages. There are metallic additives and non-metallic, you aren't seeing all of a formulation. While boron/moly are popular, it's simply one popular add pack out now. Castrol makes good oils, but their GTX is their conventional anyway, right?

Prove that Castrol causes increase wear.

Well I'm going to look for the liqui moly additive. Give it a try. Have 3 years left of gtx and VWB for this car.

Maybe I could add some syntec to make a blend . My sm sintec has moly and boron.

What do you guys think?

Convinced the VWB and gtx are lower quality now lol.

Any more opinions on the lack of moly and boron for gtx and vwb ?

Like mentioned earlier German syntec has neither and it is good. Passes for BMW long drains .

Oil itself and zinc for them are good enough for friction modifiers?

either or. Buy on sale. Try to stick to one brand of oil for several changes. That's what I do

Pyb here is expensive. Have 3 years of gtx and VWB that I feel is not good as oils with moly and boron lol.

Might use my 50% syntec gtx 5w30 blend I made.

Yea at walmart gtx 4.4L $13.88 pyb 5L $24.99 . I just want the added benefit from moly and boron.

I have syntec 50% blend i made,never used yet. Just its a 5w30 lol.

We do get our PYB sales once in a while; I stocked up on the last special. However, for whatever reason, Castrol GTX is always on sale at Walmart, and very regularly at Canadian Tire. GTX is very hard to beat up here.
