This is the same as a Motorcraft FL400
This filter was used for 14 months and 3500K miles of use. Everything looks good to the naked eye except for when I pulled the media out of the can the top plate was completely free NO glue stuck to it. Second time I’ve had this happen with this exact filter. So, no more for me

Looks good but it should at 3500 mikes. To bad about the popper, appears to still have sealed between the end cap and media. Still not excusable and we’ve seen several at this point. Maybe someday M+H will get their glue formula right. At least the glue didn’t come apart like we’ve seen on others.

Is the glue brittle and break apart easily?

More Purolator filth. As Jim said “when I need quality I ALWAYS reach for Purolator”

Looks like it got the job done. Endcap popper here is clean on both sides (not broken apart) as shown which according to member Jim Allen's reasoning when phenomena first seen, means no oil bypass in use with intact compression spring. Other than aesthetics after opening, not a bypass/functional issue.

Thanks for c&p.

How exactly?
Haven't been here in a while so no idea about these filters. Is the media glued and capped separately from the metal end cap with a plastic or fiber end cap? If so, this is likely by design and a non-issue. Do we have C&P's of this filter with the metal end cap glued on?

You’re correct to be concerned as this is a defect. The end cap should be firmly attached. This one appears clean indicating no leaks. But we have seen others with dirty oil going past the glue and even glue chunks missing.

Yep, failure is just that. I wouldn’t defend Purolator if my life depended on it; let alone my engine.

Brittle

The glue on the One filter doesn't adhere to the coverpate like it does with the Boss. I know from cutting several. But don't worry. The filter is compressed in the can and will not leak past.
Then why glue it in the first place if it’s not needed

It’s clean because I wiped it off
There is zero glue attached to the cap
Never stuck !!
