I’m honestly disappointed in motorcraft filters, this came off of my 14 raptor with only 5500k mi on the oil and filter. As shown in the pics the metal separated from the filter with a crack in the glue so who knows how long it’s been bypassing. The media was also very stiff and didn’t need much force to rip it. I think I’m never going to use another motorcraft filter ever again.

If you were a long time reader/poster on this subforum, it would difficult to be too "disappointed." As shown by many dissections here, the 820S has consistently been the worst application of the Motorcraft filter offerings. Yours is no exception. The outliers are the tolerable ones, as even decent fairly rare.

So yeah, use a different filter brand. Carquest Premium equivalent a good choice, or any Premium Guard made filter.

What went in and on? As zee09 always said “when I want quality I always grab a purolator or motorcraft”

I know WIX was making the MC's for some applications. WIX has to be one of the worst performers. Purolator seems to be going downhill, Fram owes $, It's like they cheapened everything to their own demise.
