Purolator PBL 24651 Cut Open

Your pics are so good I've got a real appreciation for how good the Boss is constructed. I have a Purolator One on my Forester currently and its rated at 15,000 miles per the website. I'm going to target it for at least 2 oil changes. Thanks again.

Go for it. Your very Welcome !!

Guy,
I need to bother you with two questions:
How long was the oil filter on the car for the 15,000 miles?
Was the filter difficult to remove when changing it out?

Thank you.
I installed the filter January 2021 and removed it this month, just a few days ago.
Filter removal was normal as always

Here’s more on the ADBV

Looks great! Your middle picture is the important one, Mann/Purolator baseplates seem to have sharp edges on the inside that try to (& occasionally succeed) in chewing through the ADBV. Not yours, though! Thanks!
There is a defect on the inner circle on the left side
Doesn’t look like it effected anything

The ADBV looks great too. I really appreciate how you cleaned the components of the filter to better understand wear . . . well done.
Thank you sir !!👍
We’re all here to learn and educate ourselves to make the best choice we have available to us.

Looks excellent all the way around at 15k miles. I'd say you got your money's worth out this PBL (y) As for adbv, the issue with some Puro with oblong holes has been that the adbv inner/central part has rested on inlet holes. With compression spring pressure sometimes that has resulted cuts, or lesser indentions. The latter really functionally insignificant. That said, looks like central part of topic adbv looks narrower, similar to those on smaller Puro made OF with round inlets. In short, proper design on this one.

Thanks for c&p.
