Purolator one problem

I did an oil change on my Infiniti today so thought I'd be a good bitoger and cut open the filter.
When I went to take the canister out of the can the top metal end cap came off and exposed the plastized glue underneath. Is that normal? What kind of problems could that cause the engine? Could oil get thru or around the loose endcap without being filtered. The glue was brittle. You can see where my finger broke off pieces of it on the bottom half of the photo trying to pull the canister out using my finger down the center hole

I used Delo synblend I got on clearance at AutoZone with HPL engine cleaner oil .There's carbon in the valleys of the media and white flaky stuff that might be hard to see in the photos. Was shiney like aluminum.

This is the last time I use a Purolator product.

The spring does hold everything together-the endcaps falling off is actually a common problem with metal endcaps. Compared to Mann’s other recent screwups, this isn’t a big deal-unless glue somehow got through the center tube, that would be BAD!
