I used the PBL14615 and I’m curious to know if Purolator changed the base plate design. The Boss plate recessed and the PureOne is flat. Thanks

Anything is possible in the oil filter world these days with all the buy-outs and consolidations. Got photos to see the difference between the two?

I’ll say yes judging by this last month made Auto Extra.

Just to be clear, Auto Extra oil filters are a 'made for' AE jobber filter, the one shown made in China? 'I' wouldn't assume that because AE baseplate has changed, the topic Boss 14615 is the same. I don't know who making AE filters now, but based on comments and pics here it's not Purolator 'US'. Could be M&H (or someone else) but can't say that based on the information here.

To topic, like to see pics of the PBL14615 plate in question but it's possible plate has changed. As mentioned earlier, pics would be helpful in providing an accurate answer. That said, a change in baseplate 'alone', wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.
