I had these photos in my phone for some months now, and was trying to post them but never had the time to do it.
Not much to add to the overall discussion here, the filter was in use in my Renault Clio for about 10,000 km. and maybe year and a half. I use that vehicle only occasionally now. but in any case, as always the filter is flawless.
Years ago I posted a DIY filter cutter that I made, for a first prototype was good and I used it many times but I wanted to build another one that was better. Last year I had some leftover pieces of 2 inch steel angle and 3 inch flat bar. So I decided to give it a go and build another one. I used a pipe cutter, and some ball bearings that I had. This has made a really nice improvement over the last one, is more stable and it can be clamped down to the bench. Very straight forward design as you can see it in the pictures.
