Eh, fram is a hit and miss for me, some I cut up look excellent like the recent subaru one. Some I cut up look ugly but worked, and others (very small amount,) fall apart or imploded.

I am only trying to balance the total pro Purolator bias you and a bunch of others show. Purolator is a run of the mill filter that bleeds money out of the country. If letting people know that inteerfers with your agenda, tough. Now will you lose your wrong idea of a plastic endcap? Acutally the lack of adhesion to the end cap is a very small problem compared to the media pulled away from the glue.
How do you know how well an end cap is adhered together just looking at a pic. If the plastic cap part is so poorly adhered then why did I have to break it with a large screw driver? P1 with all steel construction, thick baseplate, silicon ADBV, large media area etc are far from average construction. You are just misconstruing a filter cutaway pic because you are biased
People like the PureONE for a reason. If the P1 was a "SuperTech" brand, then they would be liking SuperTech. They like it for what it is ... not the brand name on its side. But some people don't like them because of the brand name on this side instead of what it really is.

+1
I didn't use PureOne for more than 10 years, because I think Motorcraft is just as good for 10-12k miles OCI with synthetic but for less $ and easy to find at WM. If P1 is available at WM for $4.xx I would but it without hesitate.
