I had some tires installed today. Shop I went to now charges $50 (according to the sign) to mount and balance. First I've seen any tire shop be that high.

Yet somehow the installed price of the tire I got was only $21 more then the MSRP price at Tire Rack, Sams, etc.

Tire shops are making it more apparent that they're in the business of selling tires AND installing them. They'll mount and balance loose tires but priced accordingly. This particular shop is as busy as they want to be and does good work. Priced to get the business they want.

Back around 2005 Michelin had a tire called Hydro Edge....It looked like the current cross climate tire...I had a set on my car and they were great...It too was a directional tire...

I reside in SE Pa and planing to do a TireRack Newark De pickup and DT Whitehall Pa $25 per tire install. I get a $40 pickup discount from TireRack, no sales tax and a tire hazard warranty. Best time for pick-up is Saturday morning at 8:30AM to avoid lower I95 Philadelphia/Delaware and Blue Route traffic.

DT owns TireRack. Lol
