Purchased Goodyear Weather Ready 2 Today!

Tire Rack (online?) shipped your purchase to Discount Tire (brick & mortar) who did the installation, right?
Whatever works is fine by me.
Your purchase deal AND the manufacturer's rebate are a great 'double savings'.
How much did DT charge for installation package (mount/balance/disposal)?

I'm such a fossil, I'd never think of your course of action.

It's wasn't Tire Racks Website. It was Discount Tires Website.
Disposal Fee $14.00
State Required Tire Fee $4.00
Install and life of tire Maintenance $100.00

I had some tires installed today. Shop I went to now charges $50 (according to the sign) to mount and balance. First I've seen any tire shop be that high.

Yet somehow the installed price of the tire I got was only $21 more then the MSRP price at Tire Rack, Sams, etc.

Tire shops are making it more apparent that they're in the business of selling tires AND installing them. They'll mount and balance loose tires but priced accordingly. This particular shop is as busy as they want to be and does good work. Priced to get the business they want.

Back around 2005 Michelin had a tire called Hydro Edge....It looked like the current cross climate tire...I had a set on my car and they were great...It too was a directional tire...

Had both the Aquatred & Hydro Edge - they certainly were good in the rain …

I reside in SE Pa and planing to do a TireRack Newark De pickup and DT Whitehall Pa $25 per tire install. I get a $40 pickup discount from TireRack, no sales tax and a tire hazard warranty. Best time for pick-up is Saturday morning at 8:30AM to avoid lower I95 Philadelphia/Delaware and Blue Route traffic.

DT owns TireRack. Lol

Those look like some nice tires. I suppose you never know how they will perform 100%, but they sure look good....which is important. I am not a read pattern expert, but they look like they will have excellent traction. I would not be surprised if they have a bit of a hum.
The Utah law enforcement agencies uses all sorts of vehicles for everyday (support-non patrol) use. My Son drives a state issued Toyota RAV 4 Hybrid that has the same tires I purchased. He is a probation officer. He states they have excellent wet traction.

Anymore feedback on these tires? They seem like an excellent competitor to the CC2 at a lower price point.

TireRack testing suggests the WeatherReady 2 have a slight edge in the dry and are quite a bit better in the wet, while the CC2 have the advantage in the snow:

This is the tire never recommended on this website due to the fact guys had a bad Goodyear tire twenty years ago and haven't got past it.
I purchased these for my wife's Volvo. Excellent Handling tire-like most tires some noise over certain surfaces. Smooth riding on the Interstate. No snow here in the Salt Lake Valley so I can't comment there.

I had the Gen 1 Weatherready tires, and they performed well for me on my old Fusion in Michigan winters. Looks like the Gen 2 are like the CrossClimates so they should be even better. Enjoy. All weather tires are a game changer imo.

The WeatherReady2 seem like the perfect tire for the PNW where we deal with far more rain than snow. Snow tires typically compromise wet performance for snow performance, so they never felt like a good fit here.

As I mentioned earlier-the Utah Probation Department uses them on some of their support vehicles. My Son who is a probation Officer says they have great wet traction.

Angling the leading edge of the tread blocks on the CC2 and the weatheready is interesting, I think the only other tire I've seen that on, is front tire specific mountain bike tires, that only need to brake. Seems like giving up on a lot of snow acceleration grip to do something else better?
