So-the OEM Continentals on the front of the Volvo were down to where they should be replaced. Assuming winter will be here someday-my wife wanted a top tier tire for her 2022 Volvo XC60. These had a $160.00 total rebate for 4 tires. Did not wish to purchase from Either Sam's Club or Costco. Sam's had these same tires-Costco of course had the Michelins. These are about the same price as the Michelins. As far as the performance- some reviewers even stated they were marginally better in some areas. I purchased the tires via online at Discount Tires website-that qualified for their rebate-and then another $80.00 via mail in from Goodyear.

They had a sign with my name on it welcoming me-and then had me in and out in under 45 minutes.
Try that at a warehouse club.

How are they in dry conditions? My biggest gripe with the CrossClimate2's was the mediocre dry grip/handling.

Those look like some nice tires. I suppose you never know how they will perform 100%, but they sure look good....which is important. I am not a read pattern expert, but they look like they will have excellent traction. I would not be surprised if they have a bit of a hum.

I agree Discount Tires service is excellent. However, sams club installation includes the road hazard replacement coverage which is ~$40/ tire at discount tire. For me it is worth going to the club.

It's interesting how the new tread pattern is similar to the michelin cross climate. We had a set of weather ready 1s they were fine but a noticeable hit in fuel economy.

For me it's the rotations, I don't mind dropping it off to have tires installed but I want to get in and out when it comes time for a rotation. And no, I am not jacking the car up in my driveway to do rotations. Costco also includes road hazard, but in 30 years of driving I've never had to replace a tire due to road hazard, I'll take the risk.

This is the thing. I did not want to wait or drop off for simple tire rotations. Costco does a lot of things right (high quality products, return policy, etc.,) but IMHO servicing the tires after the sales is a very controversial issue, hour long waits in major cities can be a thing. BTW-the certificates at Discount Tire were nearly 20% of the purchase price-I took a pass.

Didn't DT buy them a few years ago?
Yes but apparently one can still get the free road hazard warranty going through the Tire rack website:

https://www.tirerack.com/about/road-hazard-protection

I buy my tires at DT but maybe I should go this route for my next set of tires.

Edit:

So it looks like they changed some things with Tire rack since I last checked last year. They used to let you have them shipped to Discount Tire for installation. Unless I'm doing something wrong, it appears they got rid of that option. Now my only DT option seems be DT mobile installation for $179. There are authorized installers of various prices and includes a Midas store and some Firestone locations.

I don't need tires right now so I'm not going to play around with it enough to see if DT with installation and certificates (road hazard) is cheaper than ordering through Tire Rack.

I drive by South Bend, IN several times a year. I can also price out saving $40 with pickup at the warehouse and then having them installed.

Edit:
I did some searching and a thread here came up that gave me a workaround. If I put my zip code in, it shows me the list of installers I put before. If I put in the zip code where there is an actual Discount Tire store, then DT does show up as an option.

If I put in 46628, the Tire Rack installation place in South bend comes up for $90 installation. I can also choose pickup at warehouse and save $40. When you select that option, it says installation is available for an additional cost and recommends booking an appointment.

NICE, congrats!
Here's what the TireRack had to say:

Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady2
What We Liked: It was confident when pushed in all environments, but plush and controlled on the road.
What We'd Improve: Tonal variety just needs a touch more blending.
Summary: Strong all-weather performance and a solid ride make this a real benchmark contender.

When I buy tires, I don't look for the single best tire in my size/for my vehicle, I look for the best tire for me & family, climate, driving style and how we plan to use the vehicle, etc.

Tire Rack (online?) shipped your purchase to Discount Tire (brick & mortar) who did the installation, right?
Whatever works is fine by me.
Your purchase deal AND the manufacturer's rebate are a great 'double savings'.
How much did DT charge for installation package (mount/balance/disposal)?

I'm such a fossil, I'd never think of your course of action.
