Have you looked at the current draw on the unit? 12.5A @ 12VDC. More than some cooling fans you can buy. Nice unit ..but I didn't grab if it had a thermostat on it or not. If that thing runs 24/7 while the engine is running ..and you're not driving a diesel ..you can seriously effect your MPG in some cars.

Looks like a decent deal compared to retail ..and compared to much simpler units too.

Power draw is for the evap heater. You don't need to use the heater if you don't want to.

Bypass filters with heaters are vented. This means that there is NO oil PSI return from the filter. It MUST be mounted high and level since the filtered oil is overflowed out. Down drain needs to be larger then normal bypass filters. If down drain isn't large and free draining, oil will back up and puke out the vapour vent. Some heated bypass filters have a 'float' that prevent oil from escaping through the vent.

If you don't need the heater, the vapor vent can probably be sealed and should allow 'anywhere' mounting with PSI return.

Reclaimo, Puradyn, OPS,... have bypass filters with heaters.

It's a lot of complication for a filter that is certainly no better than a Frantz. What is the cost of replacement elements? They might be more than toilet paper. The hit on Frantz is frequent changes, something a diy person can easly handle. Filters that don't do much last longer.

After all the sales hype all you need is a filter that can clean the oil and to change it often enough to keep the oil clean and add enough new oil to keep the additive package up and dilute the contaminants that are too small to be filtered out. The better the filter and the smaller the filter the more often it needs to be changed. Even the Frantz and Motor Guard can't get it all. If they did the oil in my diesels would look like the oil in the Subaru. If you are operating at normal oil temperature the crankcase ventilation system will take care of the stuff that will evaporate. You don't need to have a filter that will evaporate antifreeze. You need to repair the problem You don't need a filter that will put additives in the oil. You get enough when you add new oil. We know because oil analysis proves it. I drove a Subaru 240,000 miles, changing the toilet paper every 4th of July and adding a quart of oil. I have spent the last 40 years looking for an element that works better than TP and is more economical.
