PUP 5w20 vs 5w30

Walmart's pricing scheme is right out of Idiocracy. Add in the 0W-20 prices and it is incomprehensible. Maybe because 5W-30 got Brawndo and 5W-20 doesn't?

Maybe it's because more new cars spec. 0w20 and 5w30 over 5w20? In fact...Ford seems to be the only one still spec'ing 5w20.
Having said that...I'd have no problem running 5w20 in any vehicle calling for 0w20 except if I was in the North Pole.....or Minnesota or Canada in the winter...

Just buy Platinum. Great price and your engine won’t notice the difference.
See, I agree with that. But, if PP and PUP are the same price or maybe ~$1-2, then I would go with PUP. That is why I try to keep up with prices on them.

In my neck of the woods in Canada, Canadian Tire and Wal-Mart seem to base their pricing on the type of oil - convensional, synthetic blend, full synthetic. It goes in that order from cheapest to most expensive.
